CARBENDAZIM ADSORPTION ON GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON OF COCONUT SHELL: OPTIMIZATION AND THERMODYNAMICS

نویسندگان

چکیده

The adsorption of the fungicide Carbendazim (CBZ) on granular activated carbon (GAC) coconut shell was investigated through batch tests in deionized water. most favorable conditions for CBZ were examined variation mass GAC, temperature, and contact time. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) applied, seeking best condition to optimize future tests. A thermodynamic analysis carried out using Van't Hoff method. with dosage 10 mg GAC temperatures 25º C 30º showed higher fungicide. Freundlich isotherm adjusted compound. intensity parameter had a result that contrasted value ΔG regarding spontaneous change. Physisorption predominates GAC. It is an exothermic process reduces degree disorder adsorbent/solution interface.

Experimental and Theoretical Study on the CH4 Adsorption by Granular and Microporous Activated Carbon

Adsorbed natural gas (ANG) by Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) has been widely investigated as an alternative to CNG and LNG technologies for storage and transportation of natural gas. In the present work, a theoretical and experimental study was conducted to accurately determine the amount of adsorption of CH4 by GAC. To carry out the experiments, the volumetric method was used up to 4 MPa at c...

Adsorption of Pb(II) by activated carbon prepared from Melia azedarach fruit: Equilibrium and thermodynamics

In this work, a low-cost activated carbon as well as non-hazardous material, with high adsorption capacity, was prepared from Melia azedarach fruit (MF) by ZnCl2 activation for the removal of Pb(II) toxic metal from aqueous solutions. The microstructure of the activated carbon was observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Batch experiments have been performed as a function of pH, contact ...

Adsorption Behaviour of Lactic Acid on Granular Activated Carbon and Anionic Resins: Thermodynamics, Isotherms and Kinetic Studies

Solid-liquid extraction (adsorption or ion exchange) is a promising approach for the in situ separation of organic acids from fermentation broths. In this study, a diluted concentration of lactic acid (<10 g/L) separation from a model fermentation broth by granular activated carbon (GAC) as well as weak (Reillex® 425 or RLX425) and strong (Amberlite® IRA-400 or AMB400) base anion exchange resin...
